RIYADH: Border Guards spokesperson Lt. Col. Misfer bin Ghannam Al-Quraini said on Friday that patrols in Rabigh and Jeddah in the Makkah region had thwarted an attempt to smuggle 245.7 kilograms of heroin, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Al-Quraini said 34.5 kilograms of heroin were seized in Rabigh, while 211.2 kilograms were seized in Jeddah.
The contraband has been handed over to the “concerned authority,” he added, and legal procedures have been completed. Al-Quraini stressed that the Border Guards will continue to combat drug smuggling attempts to protect the youth.
